5.0 out of 5 stars No reason to wait, December 5, 2008
By
R. Warren (Westchester, NY USA) - See all my reviews
For those of you who are gun shy after getting burned by the Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum, there is no reason to wait. JMFU was garbage. This is the real thing. It does not use a balance board. Some people seem to have a problem with that but it's not like they claimed to have balance board support and failed to deliver. The description in Amazon of what it does is completely accurate. Also, if it had balance board support it would be nearly twice the price.

I received it yesterday and have done 2 workouts on it.

Things I like (There is no way that I will hit all the good features):
1. There was a very thorough fitness test when you first set up a profile. I wish Wii Fit had something this comprehensive.
2. Maya, the coach, is a pleasure to work out with. She has a pleasing voice. She asks how you felt during a segment of the workout. The choices are No Sweat, I Was Working Hard, and I Couldn't Keep Up. If you choose the first or the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Workouts!, April 15, 2015
I have a heart problem and my resting heart rate is very high. Because of this I am limited on the amount of workout I can do. Let's just say that my whole life pretty much walking is it for me. I finally am on some medication that has this under control and my Doc has approved me for some light workouts. I will not go to a gym. I am just not that type of person and would prefer to workout at home. That said, I did some research and bought this disc. I was very pleased with how thorough the initial fitness exam was and how it immediately sensed my high heart rate and has catered workouts to that issue.
I am two weeks in to using this and I LOVE IT. I walk away feeling refreshed and totally pumped. I am sore the next day which means something is working! The best part though is I am eager to workout again the next day. I have found that for me the Flexibility training is amazing. I try to do 45 minutes a day 3 times a week in Flexibility and the other 2 days I will do... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Knee Rehab, November 30, 2016
I've been working out with my Wii Fit for a number of years, primarily the Wii Fit Plus and Nu You (sp) Yoga and Pilates. After knee surgery and going through physical therapy, I purchased My Fitness Coach to try out. When going through rehab, it's good because it doesn't rely on the Wii Balance Board and I knew I wouldn't be told how bad or weak I was. It also allowed me to modify activities that I couldn't do quite yet. I like Maya, the trainer. I like the variety of exercises that you can unlock. It provides a good cardio. Cons: there are too many physical challenges (required) to go through to "evaluate" your progress. It's too difficult to unlock additional venues and music (you have to meet their recommendations -- which doesn't work if you travel). She stops and asks you how you're feeling too often. And the rests are too frequent (but you can solve that by working out through the rest periods). I think it's a good addition to my in-home work out routine (and a nice... Read more
