Sleep Schedule and Fatigue

Thursday, April 15, 2010

From about 2 months old, baby started sleeping through the night. She would go to sleep around 9pm and wake up around 6am. Ironically, that's when I started feeling more sleepy throughout the day. I think I went from being a complete zombie to being a very tired person. I went to the doctor to find out if I was anemic or had some kind of thyroid issue. But all they found was a vitamin D deficiency and told me that it may be what's causing my extreme fatigue.

They gave me some suped up vitamin D pills, 50,000 units each, and told me to take one a week for 8 weeks. And after that, to take about 2000 units daily. Then I would get my blood checked again to see if my levels are normal. I'm in the 7th week of the super vitamin D, and I'm feeling a little more energetic. But I don't know if its because I've been going out pretty much every day of the week and just relying on adrenaline to keep me awake. Staying at home, its so quiet and dark, so conducive to sleeping. Today I stayed home and did feel like taking a nap, but I had so many things to do and I was able to get through the day without the nap.

The past few weeks, baby has been having sleep regressions. She has been waking up once or twice a night for quick feedings. I wonder if this is why I'm feeling a little more energetic lately. Am I just running on adrenaline again? I really love it when she sleeps through the night. But I would like to start having more energy. I also would love to get back on a regular workout schedule. Hopefully that will help boost my energy levels.
