Dry Scalp Saver
Soft & Beautiful Botanicals Lite Creme Moisturizer is a hair product that I recently started using and absolutely love. This past winter, my hair, scalp, and skin have been dryer than they ever have been. I systematically went through a lot of products trying to find something for my hair. Finally I tried this stuff, and it works miracles! My hair used to fall out because my scalp was so dry that my hair follicles were petering out. I even tried rubbing lavender essential oil and grape seed oil into my hair, along with a bunch of other herbs that claimed to help. But to no avail. Until I found this Soft & Beautiful lite creme moisturizer.
I rub a very small amount of it all over my scalp, not the lengths of my hair, but just my scalp. It makes my scalp feel so good and moisturized. It feels like it awakens my follicles. Since I've been using that at least once or twice a day, my hair has stopped falling out, except for the normal brushings and such. Its so great because its good for your hair and scalp and your scalp gets a nice massage as you apply the lotion.

Since I've given birth, my scalp has become a lot more oily than when I was pregnant. So I've had to stop using this moisturizer. Actually I can't even use conditioner on my scalp anymore because it makes my hair too limp looking. Now, I just use conditioner on the bottom half of my hair. First I put the conditioner on the bottom half only, then I shampoo only my scalp, rinse, and condition the bottom half again. I leave the conditioner on while I wash the rest of my body. Then I use a wide tooth comb to comb through the conditioner. Finally, I rinse the conditioner out while using a scalp massager. The only deviation from this is when I just had my hair colored. Then I condition my scalp as well since the color has damaged all my hair.
Dry Hair Saver
Loreal Vive Pro Hydra Gloss Moisturizing Hair Conditioner has also been a godsend this past winter. I actually started using it last summer, which I think made my hair a little too limp then. But this winter, it is so nice to use when my hair is so dry. My husband even uses the shampoo of this same line for extra moisturization in the winter.

I stopped using this for a while and started using whatever moisturizing conditioner was on sale, like Fructis and Pantene. But now I'm back to using this Loreal Hydra Gloss conditioner, because my hair was getting so parched. It has really made a huge difference. Even my hair stylist commented on how soft and healthy my hair is. It's a little more expensive stuff, but it works miracles.
I've also decided to stop blow drying my hair because I'm trying to grow it long, and I need all the help I can get to keep it healthy.
Super Dry Skin Savers
As you know, my winter blues has been dry skin this year, the driest it's ever been. I've always used this Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream which works wonders on my hands and feet. But this year, I started using it on my face where I felt my cheeks very dry and tight. And it worked miracles there. So now I'm an even bigger fan of this product. It surprised me that it worked even when shea butter, jojoba oil, and almond oil, which have always worked well for me in the past. This is a must for getting through every winter.
Moisturizing makeup
This winter, I also started using this Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation and Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush . I was happily using Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation and even getting compliments from my husband when I used it. But alas, this winter I needed something more moisturizing. I saw that the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation and Blush both had hydrolyzed jojoba in them. I love jojoba and decided to give them a try. And they worked great! Helped keep my skin moisturized all day long when I used them. Wow, what a relief that was finding them. This summer, though, I'm going to go back to using the Mary Kay Mineral Foundation and Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color because I think I will need more of a powdery finish to keep the oil down, and because its so beautiful on my skin.
