Crocheting and Knitting for Baby

There are all kinds of fun projects to do while waiting for baby to be born. One of them is crocheting or knitting cute little things for baby. Here are some things I've done that are quick and easy, and adorable.
Baby Booties
 I found this cute and quick pattern for making booties for a baby girl. It's called Fake Mary Janes. Just make sure you know how to properly crochet 2 together and 5 together. Those were the only real confusing parts I ran into. I finally learned how to do those by reading a crochet book I got from Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts.
Here is a picture of ones I made. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn to make the booties and cotton crochet thread to make the Rose Trim and the Bow Trim.
 I also sewed on a little pearl in the middle of each rose.
Baby Hat and Blanket
Last Christmas, I got an Ultimate Sweater Machine from my hubby. I went through the entire pattern/tutorial book that came with the machine and made every single item. Two items were a baby hat and blanket. It was amazing how quickly I could make them on the machine. The book doesn't really give you direct instructions on how to make the baby hat. It just shows you on the instructional video that came with the machine that you can make a baby hat from the first square that you knit. I just used the pattern for making an adult/child hat in to finish off the baby hat. I also crocheted a little flower and attached it to the hat. For the blanket, I hand-embroidered the baby's name. It was such an adorable matching hat and blanket. I wish I took pictures of the set before I gave it to my friend.
Baby Scratch Mittens
I am currently working on crocheting some baby scratch mitts. The pattern is pretty easy, but I'm working on getting the gage right. The first one I made came out a little small, so I'm doing a new one. We'll see...
